To do business with Europe is right. But the

difference in business culture is significant. Drive

the car as you do in India in Europe and there will be

a car crash. Also drive the car as you do in Europe in

India and there will be a car crash. Driving is

different. And so in the Business Culture. Don’t crash

Especially in Northern Europe the importance of doing everything in time is crucial. In India employed people are used to “do as the boss tells them”. But in Europe there is more of employees working more independen-tly and without any order from the boss both solve problems and anticipate what is expected from them.  In Europe, especially north of Europe, business is done less based on relationships, compared to India, and more on facts. This is why, in some cases, business meetings may include less socializing and more of “effective meetings”.  In some part of Europe, it is not always considered so good to tell how good you are doing things or having close relations to other important people – if you compare how it’s done in India. You show it by doing it – not by talking so much about it. Doing business with Europe demands that you get it right the first time and every time thereafter. In India you can get all kinds of excuses – example: When a delivery is late people care less in India but you are out of business if you do that in Europe. Hence only promise what you actually can perform.    In India it is many times difficult to work with companies and people that do not match each other relation-vice.  Less so in Europe where skill and ability is more important than relationship. A typical problem when Indian companies have employees in Europe is that information is not passed on as the European employees would expect and need in order to do a good job. This is one of several examples that underline the importance for Indian companies that wants to be active in Europe to first learn more about the way things are being done in Europe before entering Europe. Europe demands quality, especially in northern Europe. It demands on time delivery and it demands perfect service. All this can only be done by Indian companies by understanding the difference and acting accordingly. This list can be much longer. Many companies have failed doing business with Europe trying by themselves the Indian way instead of doing it the European way. Get rid of the headache, use our services instead.
